Countdown to Samhain……

Merry Meet my witchy friends!  It is October…the best month of the year!  The countdown has begun to Samhain, All Hallows Eve, the Night of the Dead, the night when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest.  The Witches New Year..the most magickal night of all!!  All over the world pagans are preparing…they are finishing up their harvesting of herbs, veggies and preparing their gardens for winter.  They are decking out their homes in pumpkins, mums, apples, ravens, owls, scarecrows, candles and all the “scary” stuff that goes along with Beggers Night.  They are preparing their altars, organizing feasts and bonfires, and wood is stacked by the fireplace.

This is the time of year I love the most..always have.  Autumn to me was always the time of year where Mother Earth is at her most beautiful, where the smells of woodsmoke and leaves burning and apples cooking  can bring me to tears in gratefulness for the Blessings from the Goddess at this time of year.  I have so many fond memories of raking leaves and jumping in them with my siblings.  Of having Halloween parties with all the trimmings…bobbing for apples, donuts and apple cider, the costumes and candy…. of helping my grandmother pick apples to make her applesauce and apple butter.  The magick and excitement of trick or treat night…trying to see thru a smelly plastic mask ..tripping over my too long costume…and feeling the cool crisp air and the heavy bag of candy.  So magickal indeed!

Then there are the quiet times too…taking a walk, needing a jacket..the cool air, blue skies or dark starry night..leaves crunching underfoot…spiced cider in the pot, warm and ready.  Sitting on the porch with blanket over the knees, watching the critters scurrying to gather, birds flocking to fly.  Or taking my daughters to the pumpkin barn for pictures and to find the best pumpkin there.  I now get to enjoy that with my darling granddaughter.

I will post more information about Samhain, my altar, my own festivities as this month goes along….but I wanted to write about the joys of this month.  I hope that you all, along with me, celebrate every wonderful moment of it.  Today, go take a walk, or go buy some mums or pumpkins, or pop some apple cider into a pot, or have a caramel apple.  Light a fire, read a book and sip that cider.

Autumn blessings to each of you until we visit again!  Autumn

My Mabon ritual…..

Merry Meet my friends…I hope that you all had a Blessed Mabon/Autumn Equinox/Ostara and Harvest Moon!  It was a gorgeous night…the Moon?…well She was amazing and beautiful.  Red Orange as She rose in the sky…then lightening in color with an orange aura around Her….then higher She climbed and larger and brighter She shone…it was glorious!  Here in ohio it was HOT and muggy that night but I spent time outside to receive her energy..it was magickal indeed.

About 11:00 I went to my altar.  I had prepared it days earlier.  I now added some wine and some oatmeal cookies for myself and as an offering.  I centered and grounded and felt myself giving my heart, mind and soul over to the magick I was about to be a part of.

The Circle was cast, the Lord and Lady invited in…the elements called on….and I felt myself wrapped in love and peace.  On my altar was a black candle and a white candle.  I lit them ..and spoke the words..of a Balance Spell…to balance my life as the Earth was balancing day and night..as summer turns to Autumn and light turns to dark.  As I raised my voice…I felt the love of my sisters and their voices, from all corners of the Earth, raise with mine.  I felt strong and powerful and the energy and love was amazing.  After the ritual, I drank wine and ate my cookie and lingered in the amazing atmosphere that had been created.  I had never felt anything so strong as that night.  I truly felt my sisters there with me, the Goddess approving and loving what had been created.  When the goose bumps calmed down and I felt like I couldn’t sit quietly anymore….I released the elements, Thanked Goddess and God for helping me in my ritual and took down my circle.

After pacing around a bit, I realized Iwas too pumped up to sleep….so I took another trip outside to do a happy dance under the Harvest Moon!   It was a perfect night in every way!  and then……I got on facebook and expressed my joy along with my sisters and others who were like minded that night!!  Ahhhh  I love being a Witch!

Since then, I have done my best to ensure that I find that balance in my life…I have alot going on in my personal life, but so far, I have not been overwhelmed..I have still found time for my craft, time with my family, time for myself (well a little bit) and keeping up with my home and the mundane things we all have to do everyday!

I shared this for one reason…to show that magick indeed exists, that sisters can share an amazing night together though separate, and that taking the time to really celebrate the Moon and the Sabbats can make a huge difference in your everyday life.  I wish you all joy and happiness and Blessings,

Autumn

Blessed Autumn Equinox and Harvest Moon……….

I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Happy Mabon and Harvest Moon..I’ll be celebrating tomorrow night.  I got my altar done today..I’m really happy with it.  This is the pic of the Moon from my front porch tonight!  Bright and beautiful!!

Here is a picture of my altar….

I love the altar cloth..it couldn’t be more perfect!  I still have to put my cakes and ale out  …..which will be  a nice glass of red wine..to represent the harvesting of the grapes, and some oatmeal cookes to represent the harvesting of grains.   I am doing a balancing spell with my spirit sisters..though we are spread out all over the world..we are going to share a magickal night..I am sooo excited about it!  Then I will do my private Full Moon ritual.  The bad news is that it is going to be 90* tomorrow..way too hot to have a fire..so my fire will be my candles this year.  I also always charge my jewelry, crystals and tools in the Full Moon…and I’ll be smudging the house and making new Blessed Water.  I’m a busy witch for sure!  Mabon is a most lovely Sabbat and a wonderful time of year.

May you all have a beautiful Autumn Equinox and be sure to pull in the amazing energy from the Harvest Moon.  Spend time with your family, take a walk, feast, drink, watch the leaves start to turn, and feel the days start to shorten and the nights start to lengthen.

Blessings to you all,

Autumn

Mabon…an Autumn Festival

Merry Meet my friends…I hope that you are all well and happy!  I am VERY happy as my favorite time of year is here…Autumn!  You may be able to tell by my name that Autumn is my favorite time of year! 🙂  We have had a glimpse of the cooler weather here in Ohio…a few days in the low 70’s and very cool nights.  The windows are open, the critters have started gathering, the Starlings are flocking…the sun is setting earlier and rising later…ahhh…I just love it!  We have been very dry so the grass is pretty brown and the gardens need lots of water and it may affect the Fall color…leaves might not be their most brilliant this year.  I’m seeing pumpkins and mums at the garden centers and the stores are filled with colorful displays of Autumn  and All Hallow’s Eve decorations….it is magick in the making!

Mabon is the Autumn Equinox and the 2nd of the Harvest festivals on the Wheel of the Year.  It divides the day and night equally.   The Druids call this celebration, Mea’n Fo’mhair, and honor the Green Man, the God of the Forest, by offering libations to trees.  Offerings of ciders, wines, herbs, and fertilizer are appropriate at this time.  Wiccans celebrate the aging Goddess as she passes from Mother to Crone, and her consort the God as he prepares for death and re-birth.  At this time we celebrate with bonfires, feasts, harvesting the last of our gardens and herbs,  make and drink wine, make offerings to the God/Goddess and reflect on the coming dark period of the year.  It’s about rest, relaxation, and reflection.  This year, Mabon coincides  with the Harvest moon!  Spells and rituals for Mabon should be about balance, protection, prosperity, introspection and harmony.  These spells should have extra energy for you if performed on the Full Harvest Moon.  I love this Sabbat so much!!

My altar is decorated with a leaf patterned altar cloth, candles of Red, brown, green, rust.  Gaia and the Green Man grace my altar.  I have a vase of autumn flowers, wheat grass and cat tails from my own pond.  I have acorns, apples, small gourds, cluster of grapes, a glass of wine.  I have crystals of citrine, lapis, carnelian and amethyst.  I’m using  patchouli incense and have sage on my altar as well.  I will be doing a spell for Balance this Mabon with my sisters in spirit.  I’ll also smudge my house and I’m working on my “Autumn” cleaning..preparing the house for being closed up for the Winter.  I will make an offering to Mother Earth as always.  If you haven’t already worked on your altar, this may give you some ideas! 🙂  I also make a Mabon Oil blend and anoint my altar and myself with it…I’ll share the recipe with you!

Mabon Oil…….    4 drops Rosemary

                                4 drops Frankincense

                                2 drops Apple

                                1 drop Chamomile

1/8 cup  Almond Oil for Base

Blend in a small capped bottle or spray bottle.  Can of course double the recipe..it smells great!

For dinner we’ll be having roast with potatoes, carrots and squash.  Homemade bread and apple crisp.  A glass of wine or two of course..I will be spending time with the Goddess, enjoying her in Her Full glorious Moon by a fire with my loved ones.  If you don’t do anything else, do this.  The energy you get from just sitting under the Full Moon, relaxing, listening to what She may have to tell you….the feeling is awe inspiring and amazing.  I’m am constantly amazed when I draw Her down.

Had to post this picture  ..I just loved it!

I hope that each of you have a very Blessed Mabon.  May these days of crisp air, colorful crunching leaves, blue skies, blustery winds and need- a- sweater weather…bring you joy and Blessings.  Reflect on all that is good in your life, and also what you can do to be happier, to be more loving, to make a difference in the world and to be the best witch you can be!  LOL..even if you’re not a witch, you can do these things….:)

Blessed Be, Autumn

Herbal remedies and sisters in spirit…….

Merry Meet again friends…Hope this finds you all well and happy.  Here in Ohio we are enjoying a few days of gorgeous Autumn-like weather…its been really cool at night..around 70 during the day…windows are open airing out the house..perfect weather to me!  But it is only a glimpse as it is going to warm up again starting tomorrow.  But the nights are staying cool so it is a promising sign that Fall..my favorite time of year..is almost here!  I just come alive in the Fall..I love the crispness of the air and crunching leaves and the beautiful colorful trees.  I love the smell of woodsmoke, good food cooking in the slow cooker, apples, pumpkins, mums, the harvest moon..just magick!

While pot roast was cooking in the crockpot today I decided to either make or finish up some herbal remedies I had been wanting to make.  I had brewed olive oil with calendula for several days and wanted to make it into a salve.  This works like a do’all skin ointment.  Put it on cuts, bruises, reddened or dry skin, callouses, hives, rashes, bug bites, mild burns…just about anything.  I also made a lavender toner a couple of weeks ago.  I just needed to strain off the lavender buds and bottle it.  I also  made a germ fighting spray that was posted online by Granny’s Hearth.  I feel so “witchy” when I’m making them and putting a spell on them!

After I get the remedies jarred and bottled..I light a candle and put a spell on them to make them work as they should.  This is what I say:

“In my kitchen, I toil and brew

Making potions with love and magick true

May they soothe and heal and lessen pain

Until all is well and right again

By herbs and oils and with harm to none

By my will and power, this spell is done.”

I have really just started making homemade herbal remedies for medicinal purposes.  I have made homemade cleaning supplies, homemade soaps, essential oil sprays for home or perfume, but had never really made homemade salves etc.  I have enjoyed it immensely and find that they work fabulously..even better then the over the counter stuff you buy at Walmart and Krogers.   To increase my knowledge, I am going to take an online herbal course thru Susun Weed who came highly recommended by several of my facebook friends.  I can’t wait to really get some help on the subject and to become more learned in it.  I have bought many books and find it pretty simple to follow but I want to learn from an expert! 🙂  I have a lovely sister in spirit who will be taking the class with me…it’ll be great to compare notes and discuss the classes together.

Speaking of facebook, I just have to say that I have got the best facebook friends ever.  So many wonderful, kind, funny, caring people.  I have a habit of asking a question of the day..and everyday I get people who come and share themselves with me…if there is disagreement it is done kindly and respectfully…there has yet to be any rudeness on my page which I’m grateful for..as I have seen it and don’ t like it.  I believe in live and let live and telling someone their beliefs are wrong goes against my grain.  I am so grateful for all of my fb friends because they have made my world bigger and lovelier, they have expanded my knowledge, and I feel a true spirit connection with people all over the world.  Thank you so much to each of you!!

I also am part of a wonderful online “coven” for want of a better word…my sisters in spirit…my closest fb friends…and they are pure joy to me…They open their hearts everyday to each other…whoever needs comforting, support, someone to listen, candles lit, prayers sent up, questions about anything..we are all there for each other!  We share our lives quite openly..we are true sisters in every sense of the word.  I am incredibly blessed to have them and I love each and every one of them…Thank you from the bottom of my heart my sisters!

The New Moon is coming soon..for me,  this New Moon means a good cleansing and blessing of my home…renewing the protection I have set around my house, starting my  “Fall cleaning”..getting the house ready for the cool weather..such as getting the fireplace cleaned and wood ordered, stocking up on baking supplies, and having a list of indoor projects to keep me busy in the lazy months!

May you all have a blessed Labor Day tomorrow and I believe today was Father’s Day in the Southern Hemisphere!  Remember to be kind, live in each moment, spend time each day reflecting on gratitude for what you have been blessed with in your life, and send out love to those around you and you’ll get it back.

Merry Part and Merry Meet again,

The Full Moon and the Smoky Mountains……

Merry Meet my witchy friends!  Hope this finds all of you well and happy.  My hubby and I celebrated 31 years of marriage this week and decided to take a quick trip to our cabin in the Smoky Mountains for a few days.  It has been a whirlwind trip but fun and we’ve enjoyed our “alone” time together very much..especially in the mountains which sing to me, calm me and make me feel very small in this big world.  The weather has been hot but not too humid and the evenings cool down nicely.

It is also the Full Moon and seeing the Full, bright Moon hanging over the dark mystical mountains at night is something I treasure..I can feel Her pull, Her energy, Her connection with the mountains and with me.  My body feels tingly and light just looking at Her.  I am blessed to get to see this….By the way, this moon picture was taken by me last night..thru the trees over the cabin!  Breathtaking!

FULL MOON

by Darkwing

In the darkening sky, if you cast your eyes,

You will see the silver lady rise,

Bathing the world in a steely blue

Edged with a haunting, silver hue.

Higher and higher she rises with grace,

Shrouding the trees in a cloak of lace,

Sending her rays to the waters below,

Casting reflections in ripple and flow.

Oh, such a majesty gracing the sky,

Passing a twinkle to stars riding high,

Oh, what a magickal sight we purvey

From dusk, till the night gives in to day.

And so, she sinks in horizons west,

Content in the knowledge that we saw her best,

She’ll return once again when the sky turns black,

And if you should whisper, she might whisper back.

Love this poem and had to share it.  We are leaving to go home tomorrow and I look forward to seeing my daughters, cats, home and yes, I’ve missed my facebook friends! LOL…I knew I was addicted..and yes, I most definitely am. 🙂

Before I left home I made up a batch of Lavender Toner….thought I ‘d share the very easy recipe here for you all to enjoy..

1 cup witch hazel

1 TB dried lavender buds

6 drops lavender essential oil

Mix together in a lidded glass jar and shake well.  Store in a dark place and shake everyday for 2 weeks.  Then, pour thru a cheesecloth to strain buds…pour into a mister bottle or lidded bottle that you can use with a cotton ball…Enjoy!

*I doubled this recipe by the way.

It smells divine and feels so refreshing.

I hope that you all will spend some time with the Full Moon..and bless the Goddess for her gifts she has given to you.  May you all have a beautiful Esbat..

Blessed Be..

Blessed Lughnasadh 2010………

Merry Meet my friends.  Today, August 1 is the first Harvest festival on the wheel of the Year…Lughnasadh or Lammas…it is a celebration of the coming harvest season, the days getting shorter, the crops at their full bounty and the cooling weather.  In the southern hemisphere it is Imbolc (for my aussie friends !).  In ancient times the God of Grain, or John Barleycorn as legend knows him, sacrificed himself so that the people would have plenty of food for the coming winter.  In some Traditions, the Goddess becomes the Reaper, and presides over the passing of the God, who willingly gives his life to bless the harvest.

Lughnasadh is a time of giving thanks for summer’s bounty, and of completion, and of finishing projects begun in the spring.  It is also a time of ritual housecleaning in preparation for the nesting energies of fall and winter.  Symbols of the Sabbat include sheaves of grain, garlic braids, sunflowers and corn.  The colors of Lughnasadh are the golds and dusky hues of the turning Earth.

Celebrate this time by feasting on fresh corn, vegetables, and berries, thanking the God for his transformation into the soul of the harvest.  Lammas is a time to rid yourself of negative thoughts, emotions, or behaviors.  Go to a farmers’ market  and enjoy the abundant harvest of the local artists and growers.

Harvest herbs from the garden, and make flavored oils and vinegars to keep a taste of summer in your pantry all winter long.  Ritually bake and bless a special loaf of bread, using grains native to your home, and share the bounty of the first harvest with family and loved ones.  Be outside!!  Play in nature, feel the breeze, hear the wind, feel the warmth of the sun, smell the grass, spend time with your loved one.  Honor the God for his sacrifice and the Goddess as she ages into her Crone stage.  Be One with Nature!!

Yesterday I baked a loaf of Herb and Crunch Wheat bread…using my own dried herbs that I grew myself..and yes, I did use my bread machine as I was very busy yesterday and couldn’t attend to making bread from scratch..that is fine.  If you have to go buy a good bakery bread..that is also fine!

Herb and Crunch Wheat Bread

2 lb loaf recipe

1 1/2 cup water

2 cups bread flour

2 cups wheat flour

2 tb sugar

2 tb dry milk

2 tb butter, softened

2 tsp salt

2 tsp dried basil leaves

1 tsp dried thyme leaves

2 tsp quick active yeast or bread machine yeast

2/3 cup dry-roasted sunflower seeds

This is a really good flavorful bread, great as a grilled sandwich!  Try it!!

My altar is done and decorated in red, green, gold, rust..the colors of late summer.  I have an offering of blackberries, blueberries, apples, bread and honey.  I am using a green candle for the Goddess and a red candle for God.  Sandalwood incense, sunflowers and dried wheat.  You may use any bounty of late summer such as squash and corn to decorate too.  Make it beautiful!

My family and I will have a feast tonight and partake of the bread.  A bonfire will be had and I will offer the bounty to the God and Goddess as an offering and thanks for the season and harvest to come.  May the Lord and Lady bless you with a bountiful season of abundance, love, light, family and joy.  Blessings to you all.

Autumn

Blessing Full Moon…….

Merry Meet friends…tonight is a witch’s favorite night…a Full Moon!  This moon is the Blessing Moon..This is a time for divination, dreams, focusing on goals, and expanding spiritual consciousness.  For me, the weather, though hot and humid (UGH)..it should be clear and beautiful to commune with Her tonight.  Last night she was also amazing  as I sat and watched Her, surrounded by clouds but shining between them brightly, low and close.  Her energy is incredible and I know tonight will be even more electric!

My full moon rituals always include re-charging in the moonlight my magickal jewelry, crystals, and athame and wand…I also make new Blessed water about every other full moon.  Tonight I chose to do a Witches Bottle…a protection spell for my home and everyone in it.  I got this spell from Ellen Dugan’s book “Book of Witchery”  which I have and will again recommend ..it’s really a great book!  I’m going to post her spell her..I hope she doesn’t mind….don’t think she will as it’s published! 🙂

Witch’s Protection Bottle

You will be burying this bottle in the ground at your front door.

Gather items needed:

-A Sturdy, clean, wide-mouthed bottle or jar with a tight lid.
-Soil or sand from the area surrounding your home.
-Something sparkly or shining like small tumbled crystals, beads, sea glass

-A rusty bent nail.
-A piece of broken glass
-Dried herbs

*Mint, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme
-A new penny or other coin
-Some loose hair from any pets in your home
-A piece of hair from all living in the home

-A magickal spell candle

Find the appropriate spot in your yard to bury the bottle. Work on the night of a
Full Moon at the height of the Full Moon,  or on the Full Moon right before Summer Solstice. Have all your items with you and a shovel. Use salt to purify the space.

Create and open sacred space. Light your working candle while you do your work. Dig the hole in the earth, try to keep the top sod in good shape to replace over the hole. Sprinkle with salt. Ground and Center.   When ready, say these words:

With the Goddess and God working for and through me
according to free will and for the good of all.
I now fill this bottle.
Earth anchors this magick in the ground.
This rusty nail, bent, now repels anything and anyone negative or life-denying.
The sparkling, shiny small pieces of crystals hold the light for me and my deities.
A broken piece of glass to deflect harm to anyone it is intended for.
These herbs infuse the bottle with their living properties;

Mint for money and protection
Parsley for protection
Sage for wisdom and protection
Rosemary for love, healing, and health
Thyme for health, love, and courage.
This new penny manifests abundance in my home.
Hair from my beloved pets to protect them.
Hair from my loved ones who dwell here, to protect and draw away negativity.
This home is divinely protected and effectively safe.
Nothing and no one can enter without my permission
Only those people and beings through whom the Goddess and God work
Can stay here, can visit, can touch this place.
Only Positive Magick lives in this place
In safety, protection, abundance, love, and joy
According to free will and for the good of all!

Start to bury the bottle, and replace the sod you dug up before hand and then say:

I now bury this bottle
It is invisible to all but me
And its magick continues
And so mote it be!

By the time you have finished this spell, the bottle should be buried. Cover with leaves or something appropriate to make it truly invisible. Under the ground, it will continue to work until you choose to remove it. If you leave that area, it is best to dig up the bottle. Then perform this again at your next residence.

In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust!

I also spent a bit of time this morning harvesting more herbs..which are doing fabulous!!  I have found I had much better luck planting them in pots this year than in the ground..

Lughnasadh or Lammas is coming up next week..August 1.  I’m gearing up for it now.  It’s one of my favorite Sabbats as it is the first Harvest festival…and I absolutely love Autumn!  (as you may be able to tell from my name!) 🙂  I will post more info on that later this week.

My family had a rough week this week when my daughter had a miscarriage at 6 weeks of pregnancy.  However, she is doing very well considering.  She is an optimistic, strong girl and is looking to the future, as his her husband and those of us who love them.  They of course, have their darling Lily, who turned 20 months yesterday, to help them thru as well!

May the Goddess shine her moonlight on each of you and bring you joy, peace, comfort and healing.

Blessed Be, Autumn

Making Jam and Bread and blankets of love……

Blessed New Moon weekend my friends….This was a busy week of firsts for me and my girls.  I have always wanted to try my hand at canning.  A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a canning kit and on tuesday my daughters and I put it to good use.  We made the most delicious, prettiest red strawberry jam ever!  We met up at my daughter Kate’s house, had pizza for lunch then when my grandaughter Lily went down for a nap, we got busy.  I had bought 4 packages of huge, red, juicy organic strawberries.  We go the water bath boiling to sterilize the jars, cut the tops off the strawberries and cut them in half.  Popped them in a food processer and processed them to little bits.  Into a pot on the stove with pectin, boil for a bit.  Ad 7 cups! of sugar, and bring to a boil some more.  That was it!  Easy peasy.  We filled the jars, place the lids on, and back into the water bath they went to boil for 10 minutes.  All done!   The jam set up quickly as soon as it cooled.

Of course I then had to make a loaf of homemade bread to go with it!  Yummy!  We had so much fun doing this we are going to make it a habit.  Apple Butter, tomatoes, bread and butter pickles, peach jam, apple pie filling..are all on the list of things we want to can!  If you haven’t tried canning, go ahead and try.  I thought it seemed overwhelming a bit..mostly worrying about the jars breaking or something..but it was easy…really!

This week I also attended my first meeting with a volunteer group of ladies who knit/crochet blankets for a program called ‘Blankets of Love”.  These blankets are donated to every single patient who come into our local Hospice.  This is a very special program.  Many times, this blanket is the last gift these patients ever receive.  The women, a group of maybe 25, most over the age of 60 have made over 5000 blankets just since 2008.  They pretty much use their own money or sometimes some donated money and yarn, to make these blankets.  Each one is made with love and with thought for the person who will be laying under it one day.  This has become a charity very close to my heart.  My sister was the first to go, about a month ago, and she has already made 5-6 blankets too.  I am not a fast crocheter or knitter, but I’m going to do what I can to help.  I have friends already donating their unused yarn which is wonderful!  Check in your area and see if there is such a charity or a need, or start it yourself.  It will be very awarding!

The New Moon is tonight or tomorrow night depending on where you live.  Remember that this is a great time to start a new project, to improve something in your life, for new direction or change, and to consecrate your tools.  The Goddess is waiting to help you with your new endeavor!

Bright New Moon Blessings, Autumn

A Full Moon, herbs and Lily…….

Merry Meet friends….I hope you are all staying cool in the hot muggy weather…feels like August instead of June!  We have had alot of rain and storms but it’s  a good thing as our grass remains green and lush, the gardens are well watered, the birds and critters have plenty of water…and it cools things down a bit after the rain.

I had a wonderful Full Moon on saturday..Strong Sun Moon…She was big, bright, and beautiful!  Yellowish orange until She rose higher in the sky.  Fate would have it that we didn’t have storms that night and I was able to attend to Her and see Her very well!  I always recharge my jewelry, crystals, ritual tools etc when I can see Her moonlight and it can fall on my witchy stuff! 🙂  I also made up a fresh batch of Blessed Water and did a personal ritual.  The best part though is just sitting and drawing in Her energy..to feel the power coming into me, grounding me, filling me with magick, calm, peace.  There is nothing like it.

I also spent some time today harvesting some of my herbs.  Some I will dry and some I have put in a jar of fresh water to use fresh, namely cilantro for salsa and chives for numerous reasons!  My cats will be very happy when the catnip is dried and ready and I will be very happy when my dill, basil, mint, marjoram, rosemary, and lemon balm is ready…both for cooking and for my witchy needs!

I am also busy working on an online class I signed up for thru Ellen Dugan called “The Harvest Sabbats.”  The harvest sabbats are Lammas or Lughnassad which is Aug 1, Mabon which is in September, and Samhain which of course is Oct. 31.  These are my favorite sabbats of the year because they are all about fall..which as you can tell by my name..is  my favorite time of year!  Ellen Dugan is amazing and this class is based on her book “The Autumn Equinox”…which I’ve already read and highly recommend.  Her books are so great!!

My grandaughter Lily loves to help me in my garden too…She is so adorable, loves to be outside..a real nature girl!!

Now tell me that isn’t just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen!  LOL…I love being a Nana and I love my little nature girl!

I wish you all a lovely summer, with ladybugs and dragonflies, with flowers and their perfume, with warm starry nights and time with your loved ones to have fun in the sun!

Blessed Be, Autumn
